2 x 50g skeins of cotton yarn in primary colour (body colour)

A small amount of dark teal cotton yarn

Felt sheets in black, white and red (or whatever face detailing method you prefer)

Stuff bulb very firmly. Insert bulb part one into the opening of part 2 to cover stuffing. Continue crocheting part 2.

Cut 4 long pieces of forest green yarn. Knot each piece one at a time tightly around the bulb as shown below to create 8 segments.

The underside of the body is the side with the HDCs. Pin the body to the head in the position shown below. Stitch to secure in place. Stuff into the neck area if needed before closing completely.

Pin the back legs on first using the images below as a guide. The raised sides are the outer sides of the legs.

Secure the back legs with yarn and then attach the front legs in the same way.

Claws

Use white yarn.

Row 1: MR 4 (4)

Row 2: 1 inc, 1 sc, 1 inc, 1 sc (6)

FO. Leave a tail of yarn for attaching. Make 12.

Pin 3claws to each leg and secure in place with yarn.

Markings

Use dark teal yarn.

Bulbasaur has darker markings on his face and his body. To make these markings chain 2-5 stitches and work 1-4 rows to make a small square. Sc around the entire edge of the piece to tidy up the sides. FO and leave a tail of yarn for attaching. Make approx. 8 of these shapes.

Pin the bulb to the body and secure in place with yarn (photo below is from another Bulbasaur I have made).

To create the face details find some good reference images online to trace onto paper. Cut the shapes out and then pin them to the felt. Cut out all felt pieces and position onto the face with pins. Glue or stitch in place.
