Count 17 rows down from beginning MR, mark with a stitch marker (I used pins as you can see in the below pictures).  Count 24 rows down from beginning MR, mark with a stitch marker. Stuff bottom of the piece firmly.

Bend wire as shown below (wire should be a little longer than the total wingspan, bend should fit inside body without bulging out). Insert wire straight through the body, using the first stitch marker as a guide. Pack stuffing on top of the wire being sure that it is even and that the wire is compressed (this will stop the wire twisting from the weight of the wings).

This photo shows one wing laid out along side some craft wire. The wire is longer than two wings long and it is bent in the middle in a v shape

This photo shows the body standing with the opening upwards. The wire shown previously has been pushed through one side to the other at the middle of the body, with the bent v now within the body

This photo also shows the wire inside of the body part but from top down, the bent v shape is flat from this angle

Repeat above with the second set of wings. From here you will need to fold the wire in so you can continue to crochet around them. Stuff very firmly as you go.

This photo shows two wires are now through the body, one about a thumbprint width abvoe the other. The photo is top down and shows the opening has been stuffed firmly to cover both wires

This photo shows that the body is now finished and closed, the wires can be seen sticking out of either side ready for the wings.

Row 31: (5 sc, dec) x 6 (36)

Row 32: (4 sc, dec) x 6 (30)

Row 33: (3 sc, dec) x 6 (24) (start stuffing firmly)

Row 34: (2 sc, dec) x 6 (18)

Row 35: (sc, dec) x 6 (12)

Row 36: 6 dec (6)

Fo. Weave in any ends.

Bend the ends of the wires so that they are slightly shorter than the length of each wing, cutting excess if needed. Secure ends with tape.

This photo shows a larger wing placed along side the body from top down, the top most wire of the body is on top of the wing to show that it has been trimmed to be as long as the wing with a bended loop at the end so that sharp end it safe.

Thread the wings onto the wires. Stitch the base of the wings in place (make sure there is a 2 stitch height gap between). Next, secure the wires to the top edge of the wings with yarn.

This photo shows the wire has been inserted into the wing previously shown. The wire is running alongside the top of the wing

This photo shows a small wing has been threaded onto the bottom wire in the same manner as the large wing was

This photo shows the wings have been stitched into place, the view is from Crobat's profile

The section of each ear with the HDC’s is the front. Pin the ears in place as shown below and then stitch in place.

This photo shows the ears pinned in place to the top of the head, the view is of Crobat's profile side. The ears a re a little forward from the wings
This photo shows the same thing as the last but from the front of Crobat. The ears are a two fingerprint size gap between them
This photo further emphasises the size of the gap between the ears, the view is top down on Crobat's head

This photo shows the feet placed at the bottom of Crobat, the gap between is about the same size as the gap between the ears

Lastly, create the face details by using reference images online. I traced an image onto felt and then cut it out before gluing the pieces in place.
