Free Cherubi Pokemon Crochet Pattern

 

 

 

Pattern details:

• Cherubi is around 12cm tall

• You can use any yarn and hook size but cotton is recommended

• This is a beginner level pattern

 

Materials and Tools Needed:

• 3.25mm (size D) crochet hook 

• Stitch markers

• Scissors

• Yarn/tapestry needle

• 1 x 50g skein of cotton in hot pink

• 1 x 50g skein of cotton in leaf green

• 1 x A small amount of cotton yarn in dark pink/burgundy

• Poly stuffing for toy making

• Craft wire- firm yet bendable

• For face- Either felt sheets with thread and needle to attach or needle felting tools and appropriate felt

Middle Stripe

For the main stripe chain 35, complete 1 row (34). For the smaller stripe at the back chain 12, complete 1 row (11).

Pin the stripes to the body as shown above and stitch into place. You can now use the middle stripe as a reference point for how to place the face.

The 'legs' are a little tricky to place. Each leg should be placed so the hdc side is the outer side. First, you will want to stretch the front and back of the leg out and pin in place. Next, push the inner edge in slightly then pin in place. You can now stuff the leg through the outer gap. Lastly, stretch the outer edge up then pin in place. Repeat the process for the other leg and then stitch these parts onto the body. Pinning the legs on in this specific order will mean that the legs will blend seamlessly to the body.

Take approx. 15-20cm of craft wire and bend one end around something cylinder to create a 'screw'. Push the screw end through the top of Cherubi's head and twist until it feels anchored and stable. Trim the wire down to the approx. length of the big leaf. Bend the end of the of the wire down in a near 90 degree angle so the sharp edge can't poke through. Repeat this process for the small body.

Thread the leaves onto the wires. At the bottom of each leaf put a few stitches in to secure the leaves to the body. Next, put a stitch at the top of each leaf that goes around the wires and through the other side to secure the wires in place. You can now bend the leaves to whatever position you like.

Lastly, place 3 or so single stitches that go through both leaves to secure the second body in place. To get the second body to face forward, place these stitches towards the front.
